How to Install on Windows

Setup takes about 20 seconds, one time only. After that, the app opens normally every time.

✅ Don't worry about the warning. Windows will say "Windows protected your PC" or "unknown publisher". This is normal for independent education apps and TheAccountant is completely safe.

Which file? Almost everyone uses TheAccountant-Setup-64bit.exe. Only use the 32bit one if the 64-bit won't install. Not sure? Try 64-bit first.

Step by step

Run the installer

Double-click TheAccountant-Setup-64bit.exe.

If you see "Windows protected your PC"

Click the small link "More info" in the blue box. A "Run anyway" button appears at the bottom — click it.

Finish the setup

Click Next / Install through the wizard, then Finish. TheAccountant opens automatically.

Done!

From now on, open TheAccountant from your Desktop or Start Menu like any normal app. No more warnings.

Why does this happen?
Windows charges developers a yearly fee for a certificate that removes this warning. TheAccountant is an independent ICAB CA exam-prep platform used by 1200+ alumni, and the app is completely safe. This is just a standard one-time check for software downloaded outside the Microsoft Store.
